Niki And The Dove

Now, I spoke this in the previous post, but I don't think I have spoken about my love for Niki and the Dove on here before.
Niki and the Dove is a group made up of two people, a man and a woman called Malin Dahlström and Gustaf Karlöf. They were formed in February 2010 and they are from one of the coolest places in he world; Europe!

So I accidentally stumbled across one of their songs by accident, called 'The Drummer' some time ago, and I thought the song was amazing, so I decided to buy their album on iTunes and it was possibly one of the best things I have ever decided to do. Their album is one of those albums that you can listen to from beginning to end without skipping a single song.

It's that good.

They are a mixture of indie and electronic funk, just my kind of music. I would as she is Sweden's equilibent to Florence and the machine and I think that is what got me hooked on their music.

So I went to Leeds festival in summer of last year I saw them and they blew my mind. I cried a little bit. Malin was amazing. I was mesmerised by her stage presence, and I was amazed by her voice and the fact that she sounds so much better live than recorded.

I min Leilighet?

So, I have found a new love for Norwegian music and came cross a Norwegian guy called Lars Vauler I listen to his song 'I Min Leilighet' and it was possibly one of the best sounding things I have ever come across by myself.



He is a Norwegian rapper, and I had never listened to any Norwegian music before, so it was all new to me, and it shocked me to find out how similar to us they are with their music taste and I loved what I was finding out about their music. I would say that the song is very "stonerish" and just reminds me of Amsterdam.

Although, I don't fully understand what they're saying in this song, I think the songs title means "In my apartment", so I just have to deduce everything from that.
Anyway, enough of my babbling, you must listen to him, his music is something that we would be into if he spoke English, so why not broaden our horizons with a little bit of Norwegian?

Maybe listen to other Norwegian artists while you're at it?

DISCLOSURE- LATCH

Oh, so EVERYONE, absolutely EVERYONE, has been playing this song. Like, everyone I know has played this song to me like "HAVE YOU HEARD THIS SONG?!" and I always say yes, but instead of them stopping the song and being like "Oh", they play the song all the way through and I can only ask "Really?"

The song is an awesome song though, but I hear it on average, about 4 times a day. If you haven't heard it, you're extremely late and you need to get yo' shit together!

So...ALT-J?

As you guys probably know, I went to Leeds this summer with my boyfriend, I was supposed to go to Reading with some friends, but I decided to go with my boyfriend to Leeds instead, and it was absolutely awesome. I got the chance to see Alt-J live before they absolutely blew up, and I also saw three of my favourite artists ever; Niki and the Dove, Florence and the Machine and Metronomy, but I think you all know how I feel about Niki, Florence and Metronomy, but I don't think you all know about my slight Alt-J obsession.

So by the time Leeds had come, I had already heard of Alt-J and had listened to a lot of their music, so when I heard they were performing at Leeds, I was obviously excited. So I got to the NME stage (the stage they were playing on) and just waited for them to play.

They were... ok.

I mean, the first song they did was Intro, which I loved, but then the famous 'Tessellate' came on and it was so quiet. Like, incredibly quiet. They were playing really quietly and people in the crowd were just standing there. It was a bit strange because they had A LOT of people in the crowd. A LOT OF PEOPLE.

I mean, maybe they were nervous but since then I have seen videos of them performing elsewhere and they have been fine. Maybe it was the fear of performing in front of such a critical crowd? Anyway, I walked away because it was so awkward in the crowd and also because Metronomy were doing a signing and I possibly couldn't have missed that.

Alt-J's album 'An Awesome Wave' was released on the 25th of May this year. It's an awesome listen so definitely check it out on iTunes of Spotify or whatever you want to listen to it on.

So recently, whilst at my boyfriend's house party, I heard a song that made my ears tingle with delight.
It was a remix of a song, and it was amazing. So amazing in fact, that I think I may make it my trademark song for when I start blogging properly.

It is called 'Flaws' by Bastille, but it has been remixed by Cinematics and they have changed the name of it to 'My Soul'.

The song is soooooo good, I just like how it sounds so old-skool garage, but with a new sound to it. It is a very good song that has been mixed excellently.

The song of the day is the Holy Ghost remix of 'On Board' by Friendly Fires. It's amaze. I like it so much better than the original, and i hate it when that happens, but it happened and I love this song so much more now. They play it at work all the time and it's the only song that can make a bit happy. (I hate working), but yeah, listen to it and feel super happy.

I was supposed to put this on here like a month and a half ago, but better late than never. Ok, so you're all familiar with the stupid Cary Rae Jepsen song, 'Call Me Maybe', right? Well, awesome Ben Howard covered her song and fucking tore Carly Rae Jepsen a new asshole. Her version is so shit compared to his. Ok, so I have also found that whoever sings this song, the lyrics will still be terrible, btu his arrangement is amazing and I almost died or happiness listening to it the first time.

What the FUCK is happening in this world?

So I was just doing my daily growing of internet websites, my usual sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, WSHH (WorldStarHipHop), and on WSHH, I came across a fight compilation. Now, I am the not the kind of person that gets erections over fights, but I thought I should just watch this video because it had been going around on Twitter and stuff.



So I watched the fight, and I was appalled. (I have embedded the video below or above so you can watch it if you want, it is 8 minutes long, and it's shit, so yeah, don't waste your time watching the whole thing, skip through it to understand what I am talking about.) Not appalled by the lack of experience that these so-called 'fighters' had, but by the reasons they were fighting and their ages. They were about 13 year old girls, fighting because someone has slept with someone's man. Stupid grown woman stuff that 13 year old girls are fighting about. I think it's so stupid that girls that age have nothing to worry about, but yet choose to get themselves involved in crap like "I slept with your man, and he loves my pussy". Wait, WHAT?

You are 13! You should be sleeping with your stuffed Winnie the Pooh doll, not someone's man, and that shouldn't even be on your list of priorities at the age of 13. Now I'm not going to tell you what I was doing at 13, because stuff like this was happening in my school too. I remember when my best friend at the time, got beaten up on the bus, and it traumatised me and what was the reason? She had been simply talking to someone's "man".

At 13, these are merely men. These are BOYS. They have only just entered the league of teenage years, but yet girls are chasing them and are getting themselves into fights over these stupid boys. The problem nowadays is that young girls are too naive. They think that if a boy says he loves you, that "OMG HE WANTZ 2 MARRY ME, HE LVS ME, HEZ GNNA B MA HUBZ". No.
I'm sorry, but that's not how life works.
I m not going to sit here and tell you about how I was one of those stupid naive girls, because truthfully, I wasn't. I went to school, kept myself to myself and NEVER once did I have an argument over some stupid dumb boy. I knew what I wanted and who I wanted to end up with and I wasn't able to see myself being with any of the boys in my school at 13, because I didn't want to waste my time being in a relationship in school only because I want to impress people.

Come on guys, you don't think you've been sussed?
The main reason why you want to be in a relationship with someone in school, is so people talk about you.
"OMDZ, U KNW SHANIQUA IZ GOIN OUT WIF TREYQUANO?". You want people to know that you may be having sex with your boyfriend and that you having a boyfriend means you're better than most of the people that don't have boyfriend. We have you sussed.

I really don't see how at 13, you could be in a committed relationship and say "Yes, this is who I want to spend the rest of my life with". You hadn't even learnt algebra fully at 13, and you want to calculate the meaning of love already? Leave it, yeah?

This is by far the ghettoise post you will ever see my type, but this fight just got my blood boiling. There is a point in the video where this stupid girl pulls out a knife to go and stab someone, when we all know she won't do it because she is well and truly scared of her mum. It is obvious that her mum's voice is in the back of her head saying "If you touch that girl, I will send you in a cargo box to Nigeria", because if she was as tough as she made herself out to be, she would have stabbed the other girl without hesitation.

It's just gutting to see that kids this young are willing to risk their lives and the lives of others over a 2 month romance.

Kavinsky, Father's Day, Topshop...

Hello guys!

So, I have been busy doing absolutely nothing today. Found out that I got a first in 3 modules at uni, so I think that calls for celebration. I should totally go out and get drunk, but I don't have the time for that. I need to do more sleeping before my week ahead of me working in retail. -_-

Anyway, I have friends that do internships at Topshop, and are giving me some free Freedom jewellery, so I am super excited for that. I don't know when I will be getting these pieces, but I hope it is soon so I can blog about it and show you all and make you jealous.

A lot of you may be familiar with this song if you have watched the movie 'Drive', it is the first song from the movie, and it made me love the movie straight away. It's by a group called 'Kavinsky', and they have some really awesome songs, but this song has gained them a lot of recognition. It is belowwww:



I have been slacking a bit on the daily posts, but I am definitely getting back into the stride of posting daily, as you can see. Two days in a row! YAY!

Today is father's day, and I am lucky enough to still have my father in my life. Although I am always talking about how much I hate him, I really don't hate him. At least he is still around and I am very grateful for that. Thanks Dad for always being there for me. He's like my bank and I appreciate that.
This isn't going to be a soppy post, because I don't do soppy!

Anyway, moving on, tomorrow, I am going shopping so I am going to do a haul video and upload it onto Youtube and here so you can see what I've bought with my very valuable money, so yeah, keep yourself updated!

Update! FILFF Clothing, Daniel, Work...

Ok, so I have been so busy working and everything that i have forgotten to tell you guys some super awesome news and stuff! First of all, I work at Forever21 on Oxford Street, so when you're bored, some and visit me. I will most possibly be there with a bunch of clothes in my hands, wondering aimlessly around, trying to look busy.

Ok, secondly, I have just heard of a song that I think I will love forever. It's called 'Daniel' by Bats for Lashes. I really, don't know why I like it so much, I really don't understand why it makes me feel the way it does, but when I listen to it, I honestly feel like I'm melting and that I'm in another world and I love that feeling.



Thirdly, I have my own clothing line! Well, I'm starting one. I am calling it 'FILFF' because I'm a boss like that. The clothes are very different, not your average kind of tops and shirts, so I will upload a picture, which will probably be below.

Most of the clothing is very vintage/retro looking. I tried to make it as different from everything you have seen, also make it better value for money, because everyone knows that the trendiest people are students and we don't have much money to be buying clothes from really expensive designers, so I have made it quite cheap.
They come in various colours and styles, so if you are looking for one, best thing to do is email me how you want it, and I will make it and ship it out to you ASAP.

I will have the website up in about 2 weeks, so I will have loads more pictures up on there, so yeah, have a look on there when it's up. I will update you and let you know how everything is going. I reckon 2012 is going to be quite a big year for me, and I'm really excited to see what everyone has in store for me.

I should really start blogging much more, I actually miss blogging even though i don't get half as many views as I want. Maybe I should blog about stuff you guys actually want to know about? UPDATEUP

So hey guys! It's been a while, I've been busy, it has been my birthday so I am a year older, and also, I have a job now. I used to love this job, because it's the same job I had last year, but now, I fucking hate it and want to die every time I'm in the building. I can't wait for payday. I want monies to spend on clothes and ponies and unicorns and music festivals.
So yeah, this is the update. I have decided that I want to start making clothes and I have. I get clothes, dye them and stud the fuck out of them. It's pretty rad. I have a few items that I will post on here, and I am going to start selling them on ASOS marketplace like a freakin' fashion genius.

BIRTHDAY PARTAAY!

Ok, so guys, it was my birthday yesterday! *Yay me*

Hahaha nah, just kidding. Anyway, I had an awesome day. I have my boyfriend around and friends from London came down for the day to celebrate with me and stuff, so it was quite nice. Arran got really drunk and was scaring me, and we ended up sleeping in the bathroom and stuff, which was hilare. Some people kind of spoilt it for me, but meh, I didn't really care, it was my night. So anyway, here are some pictures from the night!

As you can see, I am not in any of the photos, even though there are much more, I am only in one and you can't even see my face, so yeah. I hate pictures. I look like a great white whale.

10 reasons why you should get Netflix, and 2 reasons why you shouldn't.

Ok, I'm sure everyone knows about Netflix now, but I learnt about it from my cool old friends on BlogTV about a year or two ago I think, but I didn't ever try it out. I saw an advert for it on an app that I had, and decided that I would finally try it, and I did. It's pretty cool and like any other thing in this world, has its pros and cons...

Here is a list of the 10 reasons you should get Netflix, and 2 reasons why you shouldn't.

10. The first month is free! Use this month to watch the fuck out of all of the movies on the site! I don't have a life, so I spend my time watching some douche-baggy hipster movies that Netflix have to offer.

9. As well as watching movies, seasons of TV shows are available on demand; even though sometimes they is a whole season missing *cough* Breaking Bad *cough*.

8. There's stuff for liddle kiddies too! Kids shows like Dora the explorer and old school Rugrats can entertain kids and shut them up for hours. Also, you don't want your kids watching the shitty cartoons that are on TV nowadays, so give them some of your childhood, right?

7. The documentary genre is legit awesome, and what's better is that Netflix has categorised them into sub genres and stuff.

6. The Netflix rating of the movie or TV show is bang on point. If Netflix says the movie is a 2 star movie, it is a 2 star movie, no disagreeing.

5. Signing up isn't complicated. It takes like 5 minutes! Any longer than that, and you're probably a retard.

4. It's pretty easy to navigate yourself around the site.

3. It's compatible with a lot of the technology we use today such as the iPad, Xbox, PS3 and such. I could even watch a movie direct from my iPhone.

2. It's only £6 a month! That's like 1 cinema ticket to see 744 movies!

And 1. If you're poor, you could always use alternative email accounts to continue your free viewing of movies and Netflix wouldn't know the difference. (Note: I pay for my Netflix, I'm no criminal)

1. All, well most, of the movies are old hipster movies. They have a good selection, but you've got to look very hard to watch something you actually want to watch, because despite what you may have thought about Netflix, it doesn't have every single movie ever made on there.

It's 8.21am...

And I'm still awake. I had 3 teeth pulled out from the right side of my mouth today and was put under local anaesthetic. They took out my upper 5, upper 7 and lower 8, so in all, you could say I have pretty bad teeth. Anyway, I haven't blogged in a while, I feel like I've missed out on loads of topics I could talk about and now I've forgotten them, but like a good journalist/blogger/gossip, I'll find something to talk about.
So, The Avengers is coming out in the cinemas on the 27th, and me and Arran are going to watch it together because I've been looking forward to it ever since I heard it was in production. Although I hate Scarlett Johansen with a raging passion, I will still go and see it, not for her, but for the fact that I like who she is playing.

So, some of the members of OF released a new song called 'RELLA'.

Tyler, Hodgy and Domo have made a song called 'Rella' and released the video to it on Tuesday. The video got a million views in a day, and is just full of fucking random shit.

Nothing makes sense, but nothing is supposed to make sense. Does anything in this world ever make sense? Especially anything involving Tyler and friends?

The video is a mash-up of things that you think you see when you're high, and things you see when you dream, it's just a concoction of bullshit, but it's genius. I'm sure in Tyler's mind, this made logical sense, and it does in mine too.

The video has a lot of ginger people in it, so if you're scared of gingers, it's not for you.

It also has a fat black woman shaking her massive ass in Hodge's face and the beginning, so I would say that it's not suitable for the weak hearted, or for work, for that matter.

EARL IS BACK.

So I haven't blogged in a while, but I think it's about time I uploaded something on here, so I'm going to talk about the fact that EAR SWEATSHIRT IS BACK FROM SAMOA!

So on the 9th of February, I woke up in the middle of the night to check my phone, and decided to check my tweets. I saw a tweet from Tyler the Creator saying something about Earl being back, and I thought "Yeah yeah whatever, he said this last year and he was kidding", but then I saw that Earl had made a Twitter and had started tweeting and made a video saying that if he got more than 50,000 followers, he would release a song. I got so excited and started texting all of my friends telling them that he has escaped that boarding school and that he was home, and I got myself so worked up, that I could't go back to sleep.

I stayed up and started playing Earl's music from my speakers at 5am.

Earl got the amount of followers he wanted, and released a song called 'Home', which is fucking awesome and is attached below:

It was just nice to hear his voice again, on a new level and to see if he had changed, but he's same old Earl, but with a nicer flow and a kinda better hair cut.

I wonder if he will be coming to the UK concert in March?

Now I don't know what to do with my 'FREE EARL' t-shirt...

Leave Lana alone!

So, I've been trolling the internet looking of videos of my new obsession, Lana Del Rey, and I've come across some pretty negative comments about her.

People have said that she can't sing, and that she has botox lips and all this shit, but all I'm wondering is WHY DO YOU CARE?

I honestly think that she is an amazing singer, and her voice blows me away. She hasn't gotten used to the live shows yet because she hash't been in the spotlight for that long and has barely had a chance to perform at any live shows, so people that are slating her for her performances at SNL need to calm the fuck down and take that into consideration.

And as for her 'botox lips', I mean come on, really?

Her lips are amazing, it's only because you've never seen someone so amazingly pretty with such hot lips.

I hate that people are using her looks as a negative thing about her, when I think that just makes her so much more appealing as an artist in this day and age.

She is so much better than Rihanna and Katy Perry and all of those sexed-up artists out there, she can actually sing.

People don't cut her enough slack, she needs time to build up a better public profile. Just give it time, she'll be bigger and better than anyone you've ever heard and with that, Me and Lana salute you.

BUBBLE POST: Fake Fenetta profile on Twitter... WUT?

Someone made a fake Twitter account of Fenetta sometime last week Tuesday or something, and it just made me think, "Really?" Do I have that much of an impact on your life that you would go out of your way and waste your time making a profile of me? Anyway, the profile is called @Fat_Fenetta, and it just does things that I do anyway. It slates me for always being negative and insulting myself on Twitter, but if I do it, what makes you think it will affect me if you do it?

I'm not worried about people being mean to me, it's something I come across everyday, and it really doesn't bother me. I am headstrong, and I have more important things to worry about that some lowlife with a computer making a fake profile of me. I mean, unfollowing me is as easy and following me, it's just the click of a button, so why all the effort into making a fake account?

They are obviously one of my followers, because they seem to know my tweets very well. I think they might be a fan of mine or something, which I think is quite flattering.

I reckon they've got pictures of me all over their room and stuff, right? No? Fine.

Anyway, another thing they have done, is that they have said something about me apparently thinking that I'm an internet celebrity. No.

Don't you think that by you making this fake account of me, has fuelled that idea in my head? I mean, only celebrities have fake Twitter accounts, so the fact that you've used your obviously useless time in making an account, altering my photo and then tweeting as if you were me, shows that you are indeed a loser, that idolises me. Agree or disagree, it's true.

I hope whoever made that profile sees this and notices that they are in fact fuelling my Twitter celebrity status, and that I have gained more followers from it, rather than losing followers like they would have hoped.

I'm going to continue tweeting like I do, because I would never let some bullshit like that put me off doing something I enjoy doing so much. The bullies never win.
